Entering her senior year in high school, Kim enjoys hanging out with her friends and was initially scared with her diagnosis of cancer. But, according to her Mom, she is strong. In fact, when learning that she would eventually lose her hair, Kim courageously decided to shave it right off.
She loves music of all kinds so her wish to go to the Grammy Awards was a natural choice. Watch an interview with WAGM where she explains her reasoning.
Before the trip to California, she and her family took a special day and had a "glamour party" to get ready for the red carpet. The day consisted of dress shopping, manicures and hair styling to name a few! Pancsofar's Bridal Shop in Presque Isle was very generous to Kimberly and among other wonderful things, they opened after hours to let Kimberly and her sisters come in and pick out their beautiful dresses.
Once in Los Angeles, they stayed at a hotel and special transportation brough everyone to the Staples Center. Kim was invited to walk the red carpet. After the awards show, Kim and her family attended the Grammy after-party. This is the Grammy sanctioned party and there will be performers at this event. Meetings with celebrities are not guaranteed, but Kim may have bumped into a few!
