Jack wishes to go to Hawaii

After returning home from their trip, Jack and his family reported that they had a wonderful time.

"Everywhere we went, people made sure Jack was recognized and enjoying himself. From the Avis rental car manager upgrading our vehicle to a new mini van to be sure we had more room to our arrival at the resort where they told us Jack's room had been upgraded to an ocean view while also over looking the lagoon and dolphin area, Jack was treated like a king... and enjoyed every minute of it. The resort was absolutely beautiful, and Jack and his brother Clark spent many hours jack's make-a-wishsnorkeling and trying out other water adventures."

The family was treated to many activities including a helicopter tour of the Big Island and, as an enhancement to his wish, they were given front row seats and special treatment at a luau.

"The highlight of the trip for Jack was his specific wish: night swimming with manta rays. We saw 14 or 15 Manta Rays that night, which were close enough to Jack and family take a helicopter ride in Hawaiitouch and brush against us as they swam. After over an hour of this, as Jack climbed back onto the boat, he said to the crew, "This was the most amazing thing I've ever done."

We have been very fortunate that Jack has continued to do well, and also very fortunate to have support of family and friends, including this wish from Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine. Jack loved Hawaii and had an amazing week; a chance to enjoy himself with no worries. We are truly grateful to have this opportunity to spend time together as a family.

Thank you Make-A-Wish for all you have done for Jack and for our family."

Jack was involved in a fundraiser called Rock for Wishes (founded by Jack's wish granter's daughter, Lindsay Beauregard), which raises money for the Foundation through an annual concert in Bangor. This special teenager plans to help with the fundraising event again next year so we can continue to grant wishes to other deserving Maine kids.

Thank You: Wish Granters Mark and Tracy Beauregard, Rock for Wishes, Maine Chauffeured Services (formerly Blue Hill Limousine)
