Emma Age 3 South Portland, Maine "I wish to meet The Wiggles."

Three-year-old Emma, of South Portland, loves watching The Wiggles on television. She hops up and dances along, especially when Dorothy the Dinosaur appears.

In fact, The Wiggles were instrumental in helping Emma gain strength after being born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome. To help Emma with motor skills and coordination, her physical therapist played Wiggles videos and encouraged Emma to dance and jump.

Emma was scheduled for major surgery in June, and wanted to meet The Wiggles before going into the hospital. So, in late spring, she flew to Arizona with her parents and two brothers for a Wiggles Concert.

Little did she know that surprises were in store for her. She was invited on stage for one number, and met the cast backstage. While Emma talked with Wiggles singers Anthony, Greg, Murray, and Jeff, Dorothy called her name from a hiding place. Emma, wide-eyed, beamed when Dorothy came out to give her a hug. Dorothy also gave Emma her hat and a full CD collection of Wiggles songs.

After returning to Maine, Emma's mother Juli wrote, "Our whole family felt so blessed to be there with her and see her face light up when she met Dorothy, and see the smile on her face while Anthony held her!"

Dance on, Emma!
