Eddie's favorite hobby is racing and his Dad used to race cars at the Unity Speedway here in Maine. When the Speedway learned that his wish was to meet Jeff Gordon, they dedicated an entire race to Eddie where he was able to wave the flag and get introduced to the crowd before leaving for his wish. Living with Cystic Fibrosis makes traveling sometimes a challenge but it didn't get in the way of Eddie having a great time meeting his favorite NASCAR driver at at the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard Sprint Cup Series race in Indianapolis. He also took tours of the garage, pagoda and media center. Plus, he was even able to take pictures in the winners' circle!
Jeff brought several things for Eddie and signed his autograph to many items. He talked to the 17-year-old for a while and accepted a picture that Eddie drew for Jeff. Unexpectidly, Eddie and his family also got to meet John Andretti and the Miss Sprint Cup girl.
