Brandon wishes to go to the NBA All-Star Game in LA

Brandon holding his proclamation telling him that his wish will be grantedLife was turned upside down for this family after Brandon learned in January that he has an inoperable brain tumor.

However, one of the life-altering events was a positive break from the onslaught of struggle: Brandon qualified to have an experience through the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Maine and asked if he could attend the NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles, CA, which was just weeks away. Thanks to the magic of Make-A-Wish, frequent flyer mileage donations, and the Foundation’s relationship with NBA Cares, it was only a few days before tickets and a hotel had been secured.Brandon on his way to the NBA All-Star game with Make-A-Wish

However, it wasn’t just these items waiting for him across the country. Brandon also attended exclusive events including the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam, the All-Star Saturday Night presented by State Farm and special meet and greets in a VIP room with players who signed autographs for the elated 15-year-old.

“It’s been a lifelong dream to meet NBA stars and to see them play on a court all the way out in Los Angeles is mind blowing like a dream,” said Brandon.Brandon grins about getting star treatment while at the NBA All-Star game with Make-A-Wish

Brandon and his family have made bracelets to support his efforts at fighting this disease. The green bracelets (the same color as his favorite NBA team, the Celtics) are stamped with the words “Brandon’s Recovery”. He shared a few of these with some of the players and, much to Brandon’s surprise, he saw those bracelets on the court during the game - wrapping the wrists of players on his favorite team.

“The trip was indescribable... awesome and amazing combined,” said Brandon. “It was... the best trip anyone could ever have.”
