Pape Chevrolet Soars to Success
Pape Chevrolet held their fourth annual auction to benefit
Make-A-Wish of Maine on November 13, at the Eastland Park Hotel in
Portland. Once again, Larry Stark, General Manager at Pape, owner Fred Pape,
and their team had a night of unmatched success.
Nearly 300 people attended the dinner and auction, raising
$43,500 for our cause - which is enough to grant six wishes and $10,000
more than they raised last year! To date, this is the largest amount
raised at an external event in the history of the Make-A-Wish
Foundation of Maine.
The audience enjoyed seeing wish child Danny Palmer again. Danny
attended last year's auction just one week before he was scheduled to
travel to upstate New York to meet Drew Bledsoe and the Buffalo Bills.
Danny was able to thank Pape for supporting his wish, and tell them
what a fantastic time he had with the Buffalo Bills.
Eric Knutsen, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine Development Director,
says, "Once again we feel very fortunate to have Pape Chevrolet's
commitment to the children of Maine. The auction has consistently
grown from $9,000 four years ago to $43,000 this past November. The
auction takes place in November, but Larry and his team spend much of
the year planning and obtaining great auction items to build on the
prior years success. The time and energy that Larry and his team put
into this is incredible. A big thanks as well should go to Fred Pape
for supporting his employees' dedication to the Make-A-Wish Foundation
of Maine."
