Giving Magic
How Businesses Can Offer Hope, Strength, and Joy
Become A "Wishmaker®"
To qualify as a Wishmaker, a donor or group must raise or contribute a
tax-deductible gift of at least $5,000 in cash or securities within one
year. Wishmakers are recognized by having a wish granted in their
honor, and will receive a plaque with a photo and description of the
child's wish they sponsored. Click for more information on becoming a Wishmaker.
Team up for "Walk For Wishes"
The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Maine hosts Walks For Wishes at several
locations throughout the state in May and September. Individuals,
businesses, or other groups who raise at least $5,000 - the average
cost of a wish - are recognized as a "Wishmaker®" for having funded a
child's wish.
Form a business team or teams to accept the special challenge of
becoming a wishmaker through our Walk For Wishes. As a Wishmaker, your
business will be recognized by having a child's wish granted in your
honor. Your business will receive a plaque with the child's photo and
details of the wish experience.
A team that achieves Wishmaker status will receive brightly colored
t-shirts in advance of the walk for each team member who raises funds.
The shirts will prominently display your corporate logo and/or team
name to show others at the walk and in the community your commitment to
the children of Make-A-Wish.
For more information on walk locations, or to enroll in the Wishmaker
Challenge, email wishwalk@maine.wish.org.
Sponsor the "Fantasy Auction"
The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Maine's Fantasy Auction is widely
recognized as the most successful charity auction in Maine. Over
$100,000 is raised at the annual July event from unique, upscale items,
with more than 250 community leaders in attendance.
Sponsors of the Fantasy Auction ensure that all funds raised at the
event go directly to fulfilling our mission to grant wishes for
children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Sponsorship recognition includes:

catalog and invitation.

friends, staff, or important clients.
- Industry exclusivity. No other business of the same type will be
accepted as a sponsor of this event at the level your level of
sponsorship or below.
- Wishmaker Sponsors will be limited to six, to ensure prominent
recognition for those at this level.

with the announcement of a wish being granted in their honor.

Illuminate "Stories of Light"
Each December, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine lights up the night
- literally - one floor at a time at the Time and Temperature Building
in Portland. Each time enough money is raised to grant a wish ($5,000),
the Make-A-Wish logo is illuminated on a floor of the building. The
campaign goal is to raise enough funds to light each of the 14 floors,
or $70,000.
Sponsors are invited to help light up a floor - and a child's life - by
making a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine.
Lighting levels:
| Wishmaker |
$5,000+ |
| Sponsor of Joy |
$2,500+ |
| Sponsor of Strength |
$1,000+ |
| Sponsor of Hope |
$500+ |
