The girls in Brownie Troop 561 in Auburn/Lewiston were
inspired to help Make-A-Wish for their fellow troop member Hailey, who
has brain cancer and has made a wish to go to Walt Disney World Resort.
Seven-year-old Hailey and her family organized a team called "Hailey's Army"
to participate in our Walk For Wishes in Lewiston last May, and some of the
girls in her troop joined the walk. All together, "Hailey's Army" raised
nearly $3,000!

Jewelers For Children has donated more than $50,000 to
the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine since 1999, granting wishes for nine
children in our state. Most recently, JFC was the Wishmaker for
seventeen-year-old Jamie's wish to go to Hawaii. Jamie, who lives in
Lebanon, dreamed of attending a luau, riding in a helicopter over the
island, relaxing on a beach, and hugging a palm tree.
Each year, JFC makes dreams come true for Maine children like Jamie. Because of
their continued dedication, JFC was presented with the Make-A-Wish Foundation
of Maine's "Community Spirit Award" in 2006.

This month, the good folks at Sunday River Ski Resort
said "of course" yet again. This time it was to our request to host a
teenage girl from Florida whose wish is to see snow, go tubing, and
maybe even learn to ski. Sunday River said "yes!" even though we were asking for accommodations and
special treatment during February school vacation - one of their busiest
weeks. This response is characteristic of Sunday River - they have hosted more
than ten wish kids from other states who dream of seeing and playing in
snow. Click to view full story.

Dreams on June 25, in Waterville, Maine.
The family organizes the ride in memory of their son, Brendan, who organized
treks in 2000 and 2001 to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine in memory

though she hasn't even gone on her wish trip yet. In October, Kailee, her

Held for the third consecutive year, the "Friends of Camden Ryan
Libby" auction in Portland was another huge success. With nearly
500 people turning out for the event on April 9, nearly $37,000
was raised to benefit four charities. The auction was started in 2003,
after Tracy and Scott Libby's son, Camden, passed away at the age of
two from cancer. In June, 2002, Camden had his wish come true for the
train that passed by his house to stop so that he could take a peek
inside and meet the conductor.
