Maine Police Emerald Society Raffle

The Maine Police Emerald Society is holding a raffle from now until St. Patrick's Day and part of the proceeds will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine.

Raffle tickets are available to the public for $5 per ticket and PRIZES include (but are not limited to):

---Hot Suppa Gift Certificate
---Artwork of Sunrise over Back Cove
---Reynolds Sports Center Gift Certificate
---Margarita's Gift Certificate

GRAND PRIZES:
---Timeshare in Florida for vacation in April
---Regional hotel overnight stay, dinner &entertainment package

To purchase tickets, email Janine Roberts at JROB@portlandmaine.gov or mail a check made out to Maine Police Emerald Society to Portland Police Department, Attn: Janine Roberts, 109 Middle Street, Portland, ME 04101. Please include the number of tickets you would like to purchase, your address and phone number so you can be contacted if you win! Tickets available to purchase by mail until MARCH 3, 2012.

Final drawing will be held at Bull Feeney's Restaurant on St. Patty's Day.

Gift Wrapping at The Maine Mall

We will be collecting donations in exchange for wrapping Valentine's Day gifts for shoppers at the Maine Mall on the dates below. We did this in December and collected over $10,000 for future wish kids!

In order to take advantage of this again, we are looking for people to wrap gifts in the mall on these dates/times: 2011 fantasy auction

Sat., Feb. 4 (noon - 5:00pm)
Sun., Feb 5 (noon - 5:00pm)
Sat., Feb. 11 (noon - 5:00pm)
Sun., Feb. 12 (noon - 5:00pm)
Mon. Feb. 13 (4:00pm - 7:00pm)

If you would like to sign up for a time slot above, please contact eileen@maine.wish.org or call her at 207-221-2306.

Or, if you are at the mall during those times, consider having your gift wrapped by our volunteers in the Center Court and donating to Make-A-Wish. Not going to the mall but would still like to support us during Valentine's Day? Consider making a donation in honor of your sweetheart and get a printable certificate.

Family Festival to Benefit Make-A-Wish | Old Orchard Beach | June 23-24, 2012

hot air balloons Join in the fun of this family festival with state championship BBQ competition, hot air balloon rides, family games & activities, entertainment and more!

Event will donate 50% of profits from balloon rides and BBQ to Make-A-Wish Maine, helping to grant wishes to future wish children.

Training for Wish Granters

We now have dates and venues for both our all-day Wish Granter Training Session and our “Recommitment Session” for our present volunteers who have been through a training but need to be refreshed on the newest procedures that have been developed for making our wishes even more spectacular! A Recommitment Session is due for you if you attended your initial training more than 3 years ago, but you are welcome to come and join us for a refresher and to get some new inspiration from our staff.
