In September, there will be 4 walks held in central/Downeast Maine to raise money and awareness for Make-A-Wish. This critical fundraiser is a fantastic way to get involved right in your neighborhood.

Hello everyone,
It’s that time of the year again where we turn out attention to the Walk for Wishes fall walks!  We just had a very successful 10 walk spree this past May and are looking to keep the momentum going for the September Walks!  Now more than ever we are in need your help and the donations that these walks bring to our Foundation.

This year we decided to do things a little differently and are having the walk run by an all volunteer force (for some that’s the way it’s been for years, for others it will be a new experience). We are looking for committee leaders in each of the four Walk sites and volunteers to join those committees. Each committee will be responsible for deciding the date and time of their walk, where their walk will be held, and all other aspects of their walk. Our office will provide the basics, T-shirts, brochures, envelopes, the website, etc. but the committees will manage everything else. We want to provide more ownership and creativity to all of you to make your walk a true success.

1st Annual Tee-it-Up for Wishes Ladies Golf Tournament

The Augusta Eagles Club #3137 and the Maine Motorcycle Riders are sponsoring the 3rd Annual Motorcycle Run for The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine. This event is open to everyone who wishes to show their support.

When: August 7, 2010 from 8AM (registration) to 4:00pm.
Where: Meet at Augusta Eagles Club. Ride will take us to Lewiston Eagles Club then to Carriage House on Turner Line then to Skowhegan Eagles and back for the Motorcycle Run Celebration to include:

Southern Maine Garden Tractor Club will host their third annual benefit pull for Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine.

Complete with trophies, ribbons, door prizes, BBQ, monster fire engine, live auction, show tractor exhibit, and a pot luck dinner, this is an event that's fun for the whole family!

A growing tournament, last year wiffleball enthusiasts raised $2,000 with 15 teams. This year, they are hoping to raise even more with a goal of 32 teams. You're invited to join!

The tournament will be held at the Union Street Complex in Bangor on August 28. Registration starts at 8:00a.m., rules meeting is at 8:30a.m., and the games begin at 9:00a.m.

You are invited to join the Parrot Head Club of Maine on their "Waves for Wishes” Casablanca Cruise featuring The Calypso Cowboys to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine. The cruise will depart from 18 Custom Wharf in Portland on Sunday, August 29 at 3:00pm and return at 6:00pm. Cost of the cruise is $25 person.
