Stories Of Light 2007 A Success!
For the fourth year in a row, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of
Maine teamed up with News 8 WMTW and 107.5 Frank FM for our Stories Of Light
campaign - a three-week campaign in December to fund the wishes of fourteen
seriously ill Maine children. Once again, the campaign was a success, raising
over $85,000 to bring hope, strength, and joy to deserving Maine children.
Our top corporate fundraiser for the second year in a row was Stantec
(formerly Neill & Gunter) of Scarborough and its employees, whose contributions
totaled $9,000.00! Employees began their Stories Of Light efforts on October
1 with bake sales, lunches, yard sales, an auction, holiday gift wrapping,
donated returnables, donated their loose change, and volunteered endlessly
to reach this amazing total. The Stantec grand total also included a
$3,000.00 gift from the company, and a last minute gift of over $700 by
a generous employee to bring the total to an even $9,000.00. We salute
Stantec and its wonderful employees for their incredible generosity!
Our friends at InterMed also stepped up this year with corporate contributions
totaling $5,250, and an employee raffle that generated an additional $750 to
bring InterMed to "Wishmaker" status at a grand total of $6,000, moving our
Make-A-Wish logo up one full floor on the Time & Temperature Building during
the campaign. Thank you, InterMed!
We were also blessed with other corporate donors who each gave enough to fund
a wish and move our logo up an entire floor, including Amato's, Kepware
Technologies, UnitedHealth Group, and The Standard. We are extremely grateful
to all of our full floor sponsors for their tremendous generosity!

Dozens of individuals and businesses contributed to the Stories Of Light
campaign at many levels, and the campaign would not have been a success
without each and every donation - no matter the size. We value and appreciate
all of our generous supporters.

Our friends at News 8 WMTW and 107.5 Frank FM deserve a special mention, as
the incredible commitment of these organizations is made even stronger by the
passion of their employees, who take this campaign personally and do everything
in their power to convey the compelling stories of our local wish children
that inspire our generous donors. We are honoring both of these media partners
with our Community Spirit Award, presented annually to a handful of Maine
businesses and groups that go above and beyond in their support of our special
mission.
