Bank of America: Helping Out Locally
Bank of America continues to play a vital role in helping the Make-A-Wish
Foundation of Maine grant wishes by offering support for numerous fundraisers
and events. Last year, Bank of America contributed $5,000 to light up a floor
of the Time and Temperature Building in Portland during our holiday Stories of
Light campaign. This year, Bank of America is a Wishmaker® Sponsor for the 2006
Fantasy Auction on July 21, donating $10,000. Also this year, staff members at
the Belfast office of Bank of America are in the process of raising $10,000 to
fund our annual Make-A-Wish Family Reunion, and will volunteer at the event.
And just recently, employees at the Orono call center rallied together to
raise $4,200 for our Walk For Wishes in Bangor on May 25, and are continuing
in their efforts to raise $5,000 to become a Wishmaker® and grant a child's
wish.

Sixty-six members of the Bank of America -- Orono Banking
Team raised $4,734 in just three weeks. They are continuing on their quest
to reach Wishmaker status by collecting funds through dress down days.

Credit Cards to Benefit Wishes
On a corporate national level, Bank of America has launched the new Make-A-Wish® Visa®
credit card - a full-service credit card that supports the largest wish-granting charity
in the world. Each time a Maine resident makes a purchase using the Make-A-Wish Visa card,
a percentage of the net purchase benefits our Maine chapter. For more information, click
on the credit card icon on the bottom left-hand side of our website's homepage.
Bank of America also offers a purchasing card program for the staff of the Make-A-Wish
Foundation of Maine to use for chapter business, with cash back to our Maine chapter.
And for our wish families, Bank of America has launched a debit card to make wish trips
and shopping sprees easy. Our chapter is able to provide wish families with pre-paid
debit cards, which are more cost-effective and safer than checks, traveler's checks,
or cash.
We appreciate the many innovative ways that Bank of America supports Make-A-Wish. Thank
you, Bank of America!
